The Louisiana Cat Employee Relief Fund is extending the collection of monetary donations through October 2.
Hurricane Laura impacted almost half the company’s workforce. 316 Louisiana Cat employees lived within the impact zone. Fortunately, none of our LMC family were injured in the storm. Unfortunately, 8 sustained enough damage to their homes to make them uninhabitable. 32 others sustained significant to minor roof damage, but are still able to live in their homes. Two days after the storm passed, 88 employees were left without power. Most of those were still without power more than a week later. Today, we still have 9 co-workers in the Lake Charles area without power. Expenses such as generator fuel, ice, food and water in a hurricane impact zone create a financial burden for those already experiencing enough hardship.
Your voluntary donation to the Employee Relief Fund will provide short-term, emergency relief and support to fellow employees who have been impacted by Hurricane Laura. The donations are strictly voluntary and are intended to help other employees meet the immediate, short-term financial needs until insurance benefits begin. Distributions to impacted employees will be determined by a committee of employees and paid out on October 2.
Donations can be made by check or through payroll deduction.
Check: Make checks payable to “LA Cat Employee Relief Fund”
and bring to your location’s Service or Parts Manager
or mail the check to PO Drawer 536, Reserve, LA 70084.
Payroll Deduction: A one-time payroll deduction from your next paycheck may be
donated by e-mailing the amount you wish to donate to payroll@louisianacat.com.
Non-monetary Donations:
Thank you to everyone who donated non-monetary items. With your generous help, we were able to send 6 pallet boxes and 2 pallet crates of donations to Lake Charles. Thank you to David Meche and the Lafayette
Parts Team for receiving, storing and facilitating delivery of the items to Lake Charles.
Facebook Group:
A Facebook group has been created to assist with the donation of durable goods such as furniture, appliances, clothing, etc. Impacted employees can browse the offered donations and accept what they need. Please note you will need to be outside of the Firewall to access.

Instill Safety in Everything we Do:

Thank you to everyone for continuing to instill safety in everything we do.
Our continued thoughts and prayers are with everyone during this time.

An update from Quality Manager, Jarrod Suire:
The pace is picking up with the Dyno construction. With the main structures in place, workers started roughing everything in place; from water tower pumps to exhaust duct work, the building is taking shape.
Thank you to everyone who helped with Parts Inventory this year! Your help is greatly appreciated.
The Alexandria Senior High School Girls Basketball team once again assisted Alexandria with inventory.
Thanks to Joe Brou for providing the Reserve team with a hearty lunch during inventory.
Louisiana Cat and Sitech Louisiana were featured in a recent video published by LSU. The video focused on the renovations that have been underway since the completion of the 2019 season and ended in June 2020. The project included removing 12" of the entire field, redoing the irrigation and drainage, then putting back sand, peat, and sod with equipment from Louisiana Rents equipped with technology from Sitech Louisiana.

This year we’re celebrating the strength and resiliency of the Cat® brand. There’s been no shortage of tough times in the last 95 years, but we always come out stronger. When natural disasters hit our communities, we rebuild. When economic downturns hit, we innovate. 2020 has been no different. We’ve found new ways to get stuff done. So let’s take some time to celebrate our strength and have some fun!

Customer Experience Day, also known as CX Day, is a day dedicated to both internal/external customers and combining efforts to develop mutually beneficial partnerships. Each year on the first Tuesday in October, CX Day, the CX community celebrates the professionals and companies that make exceptional customer experiences happen. This year CX Day will be celebrated on October 6, 2020. Louisiana Cat will take this opportunity to recognize GREAT + customer work, discover professional development opportunities, and strengthen professional networks with both internal/external customers.
In light of these challenging times, Louisiana Cat would like to take this opportunity to not only celebrate, but recognize the Lake Charles Sales, Rental, Parts and Service teams for continuing to provide a GREAT+ experience in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.
The members of these teams at both Lake Charles Rental and Machine Parts/Service have not only adapted to unusual conditions at the makeshift store front, but have continued to deliver exceptional experiences to both internal and external customers. As the temporary facilities are operating out of modular-style store fronts, the team members have taken pride in keeping our customer experience as a top priority.
In addition to the Lake Charles teams, countless members from other branches and divisions have jumped in to lend a helping hand during the influx of business and cleanup efforts. These members have also leant a helping hand to many of our displaced team members and their families. As valued members of the Louisiana Cat family, our teams have and will remain committed to our internal and external customers during these unusual times.
