The threat of COVID-19 has been reduced but it has not gone away.  New cases of the virus are reported daily and our understanding of COVID-19 and how it spreads continues to grow. We remain fully dedicated to the safety, health and well-being of the Louisiana Cat Team. But our efforts to keep you safe requires everyone’s diligence and commitment. The intent of this message is to remind the employees of LMC of a few important points to prevent the spread.

Don’t come to work sick

• If you have symptoms of the virus, stay home and call your doctor.
• If you are staying home because you are sick, you must let your supervisor know.

Continue to practice social distancing in the workplace

• Don’t carpool.
• Don’t cluster in groups of 2 or more.
• Keep your distance in break areas and hallways.

Don’t gossip

• A person’s medical condition is their own business and off-limits for inter-office gossip.
• Report all possible exposures to HR so we can take the proper steps to privately protect employees.

Don’t let down your guard

• The virus is still out there and still dangerous.
• Continue to regularly clean and disinfect common areas and commonly touched surfaces in the workplace.

As we move through the phases of reopening the state, employees may still encounter travel restrictions.  Louisiana Cat is a critical supplier to several sectors of critical infrastructure designated by the Department of Homeland Security.  As a “critical infrastructure industry employee,” you should be considered exempt from local restrictions such as curfews, shelter-in-place orders and other mobility restrictions when reporting to, returning from, or performing work functions.
